Two arrested for attempted murder

AUBURN, Ala. – On June 8, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Rashound Eric Tremaine Sawyer, age 28, from Tifton, Georgia, and Carmella Star Spinks, age 26, from Auburn, Alabama in connection with a shooting that left one injured.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a shots fired call near the 4000 block of Moores Mill Road during the early hours of June 8. Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders immediately initiated medical aid prior to ambulance transport. The victim is currently in stable condition.
After further investigation, Auburn Police detectives developed Rashound Eric Tremaine Sawyer and Carmella Star Spinks as suspects and arrested them both for attempted murder. Sawyer was additionally charged with certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm. It was determined that the victim was acquainted with at least one of the offenders.
Sawyer and Spinks were transported to the Lee County Jail where Sawyer is being held without bond pending further judicial review. Spinks was held on a $75,000 bond.
